Childcare Leaves Toddler At Chuck E. Cheese’s After Field Trip

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – A 2-year-old boy was left at Chuck E. Cheese’s by his childcare provider after a field trip, according to the St. Charles Police Department.

He and 14 other children under five years old were taken to Chuck E. Cheese’s by two women who work for Rich & Little Daycare in Moline Acres, according to police.

Witnesses said the boy was left by the women and that he wandered around for about two hours.

“He was asking people to play, and saying that he did not know where his teachers were,” witness Jessica Eaton said. “Then the employees started trying to help make him happy by giving him coins to play games and food.”

The St. Charles Police Department and officials with Social Services were called to the scene. Police said employees at Chuck e. Cheese’s handled the situation “perfect.”

However, witnesses were not so kind to the childcare employees.

Controversial Sales Tax Bill Up For Debate In Senate

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – With the legislative session ending Friday night in Jefferson City, time may run out on a bill which could lead to raising the sales tax to pay for transportation infrastructure improvements.

The legislation would put the issue of raising the sales tax on next year’s ballot for voters to have the final say.

The bill would almost certainly mean major improvements to I-70 between Independence and Wentzville, Mo.  But some Republican state senators have led a filibuster against the bill saying they are concerned about passing anything that could mean a tax increase.

The bill is one senate roll call away from being on the November 2014 ballot.  If it passes, the bill would have voters decide whether to temporarily raise the sales tax by a penny for a decade.

The extra money would be used to fund state highways, local road and other kinds of transportation like railroads, airports, mass transit and river ports.

Facebook Connects 50′s Travelers To Future Art Exhibit

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – When Jeff Phillips bought a box of old slides at a garage sale, he had no idea the adventure he’d begun.

“They’re all composed similarly and that alone kind of raised the flag and peaked my interest as to what this photographer was doing.” said Photographer Jeff Phillips.

Turns out it was a husband and wife traveling all over the world in the 1950′s and photographing each other along the way and they followed these strict rules of composition in most cases. Phillips, a Chicago based photographer, filled in the frames with his own theories. But, when he took his one thousand abandoned slides to facebook, he found some answers.

“I started posting one image per day on Facebook and created a site called “Is this your Mother.” I invited a few friends and let it be.” said Jeff Phillips.
