SLATE announces GM employment opportunities

SLATE announces GM employment opportunities

General Motors in Wentzville has asked St. Louis Training and Employment Agency (SLATE) to provide assistance in recruiting applicants to fill all open positions. There is no minimum education or experience required to be entered into the applicant pool. GM uses a random selection process in which it randomly selects referrals to offer the opportunity to begin the application process.

All individuals interested in being entered to the applicant pool must visit one of the SLATE Missouri Career Centers in person. Potential candidates will be required to register with SLATE, show proof of citizenship, take a brief assessment, and view an orientation video if they are not already members of the Career Center. The process generally takes between 30-45 minutes. SLATE Career Centers are located at 1520 Market (3rdfloor) or 4711 Delmar.

AG Koster reminds Missourians to register cell phones on no-call list

AG Koster reminds Missourians to register cell phones on no-call list

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster said today that Missourians must register their cell phones on the no-call list before August 1 for their numbers to be included on the October 1 list sent to telemarketers.  People can register their number on the Attorney General’s website at ago.mo.gov or by phone at 866-662-2551.

“More than 175,000 numbers have been registered since June 14, the day Governor Nixon signed the legislation expanding the registry to include cell phones,” Koster said.  “This is a tremendous response by people who are tired of receiving and having to pay for unwelcome and annoying calls on their cell phones.”

The no-call registry is updated quarterly, and people who add their mobile numbers to the list by July 31 will be covered as of October 1.  Everyone signing up after July 31 and before November 1 will be covered beginning January 1.
