Rec-Plex Fitness Fest Offers Specials | Events

If your life gets busy and hectic sometimes, you know that it can be difficult to maintain a fitness routine. The St. Peters Rec-Plex offers ease of use with a central, convenient location as well as a variety of options for fitness and fun at an affordable cost with low non-resident rates.

To make things even easier, the Rec-Plex is opening its doors FREE to the public during the Rec-Plex Fitness Fest on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Try all of the Rec-Plex’s state-of-the-art facilities, from the expansive cardio fitness and weight training areas to swimming, ice skating, volleyball, basketball, and more, as well as a number of FREE fitness classes throughout Fitness Fest.

New annual and GOLD PLUS members who join the Rec-Plex during Fitness Fest get the Baker’s Dozen Deal with a 13th month for FREE. For families who want to check out the Rec-Plex on a “trial basis,” Fitness Fest also offers a chance to purchase a $150 Family Quick Start Pass good for 3 months.

Rec-Plex annual members get full access to the Rec-Plex and its facilities, plus members can sign up for many monthly aerobics classes for free. GOLD PLUS members get these same advantages plus they get many more free classes and programs.

Here is a list of FREE Fitness Fest activities on Saturday, Sept. 10:

• 9 a.m.-noon, volleyball

• Noon-3 p.m., basketball

• Noon-3 p.m., large heated family leisure pool (with water play features, large whirlpool/current channel, and 130-foot waterslide), adult lap swimming, spa and sauna

• 12:30-3 p.m., ice skating

• 9 a.m.-3 p.m., cardio room, weight training room and indoor track (must be age 16 or over)

• Group fitness classes and more throughout the event

• Vendor booths and displays

Plus, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital will provide cholesterol/HDL screenings from 9 a.m.-noon for just $5 per person. And, Fitness Assessments are $25 for the general public, or FREE to any Rec-Plex members (including new members who join on Fitness Fest).
