Kids Can Express Themselves At The St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre

If you have a little drama queen or king at your house, St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre has the perfect outlet for them. The Stage Skills class at the Cultural Arts Centre will allow your kids ages 10-14 to creatively express themselves through acting.

In this class, kids will be encouraged to express their creativity while learning basic stage acting skills. They will learn theatrical terms, how to audition, how to develop characters and perform monologues and scenes from plays or musicals.

Stage Skills will meet on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m. from Sept. 9 - Nov. 14.

The cost to register is $85 for St. Peters residents and $95 for the general public.

17th Annual MOSAICS Missouri Festival For The Arts

Several blocks of North Main Street in Historic St. Charles will play host to more than 75,000 people at the17th Annual MOSAICS Missouri Festival for the Arts on September 16-18, 2011.

The free Festival is a family-friendly weekend event, with activities for everyone including fantastic art, great entertainment and the opportunity for children to create their own artwork.

The MOSAICS Missouri Festival for the Arts runs from 4:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, September 16th; 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 17th; and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 18th.

The three-day festival includes:

More than 110 juried and invited artists from across the state, region and country will exhibit, discuss, and sell artwork. Paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, jewelry, metal and woodworking are just a sample of the media represented. More than $5,000 in cash prizes is awarded to participating artists.

Artists Gain Perspective At St. Peters’ Cultural Arts Centre

Join local artist Jerry Thomas for his class, “Perspective for Artists,” at St. Peters’ Cultural Arts Centre. This class will take place on Tuesdays, Sept. 6-27, from 6-9 p.m. The fee is $104 for the class.

If you’re unable to attend the class, Jerry is still available to help you with your artistic challenges. Just stop by the Cultural Arts Centre on Friday afternoons between 2-5 p.m. for one of Jerry’s Open Art Workshops. Bring supplies and draw or paint in the medium of your choice. The cost for the workshop is $12 for Arts Centre members or $15 for others. No need to register–just walk in!

Join the Library Foundation on Saturday, September 10th for the 3rd Annual "Art Uncorked: An Evening of Grape Expectations" and enjoy an intimate gathering of art, wine and food in the beautiful Kathryn Linnemann library.

Meet the artists, sample wines and beer, and enjoy a variety of foods from St. Charles restaurants and caterers and music by the Blanchette Trio.

Guests will have a chance to bid on fabulous items in our silent auction and purchase items from participating wineries and artists.

Certain tickets purchased for Art Uncorked also enter you in the "Uncorked" raffle where you have a chance to win up to $1,500!  Only 200 tickets will be sold for the raffle.

Rams Open Scrimmage At Lindenwood University
The St. Louis Rams will hold an open scrimmage during training camp on Sunday, August 7 at 11 a.m. at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. The scrimmage, which will last approximately two hours, will take place at the 6,000-seat Harlen C. Hunter Stadium on the Lindenwood Campus.  “We are excited to once again utilize Lindenwood’s outstanding facility for our scrimmage,” Rams Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo said.  “We’ve had great experiences at Lindenwood each of the last two summers and it will be another tremendous opportunity for us to connect with our fans in the St. Louis metro area.” Admission to the scrimmage and parking are free.

The St. Charles County Fair starts Tuesday, July 26 and runs through Saturday, July 30.

Season Passes will be available for sale at the main gate at Rotary Park Starting July 26 at 4:00pm and remain on sale until July 30. All Passes are non-refundable. Only cash, checks and money orders are accepted.
