New Cooking School in Winghaven Focuses on Kids

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO. (KTVI) - Kids Time 2 Cook, a new kid-friendly cooking school, plans a June 15 grand opening in Winghaven.

The school, at 7332 Village Center Drive, is a culinary school for kids that offers camps, workshops, birthday parties and cooking classes and also a small store area with gifts.

Show-Me State Games to begin this weekend

COLUMBIA, MO. (KTVI) - This weekend kicks off the 29th annual Show-Me State Games with events beginning on Friday, June 14.

This weekend's games include events that are open to athletes in Missouri and throughout the Midwest. These sports include lacrosse, youth football, 3v3 Soccerfest, par-3 golf, pickleball, basketball and soccer.  

The Missouri State Senior Games will also take place this weekend in Columbia. These games, like the Show-Me STATE GAMES, are an Olympic-style sports festival but are reserved for athletes age 50 and older. Seniors from across the state will gather this weekend to compete in more than 20 sports.

Fishing Derby To Be Held In June For The Disabled

ST.  CHARLES, MO. (KTVI) – The Optimist Club of St. Charles on Saturday, June 8, 2013 will partner with the Community Living, Inc. of St. Peters to host a fishing derby for people with disabilities.  The fishing derby will held at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area, Lake 15 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Participants will be provided with fishing gear, fishing assistance and lunch from the optimist club.

Sts. Joachim And Ann Care Service To Host 1st Field Day

ST. CHARLES, MO. (KTVI) – Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service is slated to host its first annual Charity Field Day to support the charitable arm of care service community outreach.  Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service currently reaches out to over 6,000 people a year, providing shelter to the homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, funds program for children and family development, emergency housing, home repairs, rent/mortgage assistance, utility assistance, work placemen and adopt-a-family for Christmas.

The field day will be held at the Tri-County Outreach Center at 4116 McClay Road in St. Charles, Mo. on Saturday, June 22nd from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm.

The charity service the citizen of St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren Counties.

Sculpture Camp Being Offered In St. Peters

Sculpture Camp Being Offered In St. Peters

ST. PETERS, MO. (KTVI) – The St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre is offering a sculpture camp, as part of its ArtExperience camp this summer.  Sculpture camp will start on June 24, 2013 and is open to kids ages 6-13.

Kids will be working with unique materials, that include clay, recycled items, experience working with a pottery wheel and molding clay.

Camp fees are $65 for a half day and $110 per week for full days.
