Wentzville Planning & Zoning to Consider New Manufacturing Plant

Wentzville's Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a site plan for a new manufacturing facility in the M & B Sachs Business Park on Edinger Road.

The new facility, if approved by the city, will be a tier one supplier to General Motors' new product line, city documents report.

A tier one supplier, according to Answers.Ask.com, is "a manufacturer who is very high on a company’s chain of suppliers

Wentzville Board Asks for More Discussion on Parks Funding

Last month, members of the Wentzville Board of Aldermen were surprised to find out that money generated from the 1/2 cent parks sales tax was not being kept in a separate fund.

On Wednesday night, the board asked for further discussion of the subject after approving a contract to outsource the city's pool management services and being asked to approve a $22,000 transfer from the general fund to cover those costs.

Assessment Notices for Wentzville Residents to be Mailed in April

Wentzville and Lake Saint Louis residents can expect to see real estate assessment notices coming in the mail in the next few weeks.

According to a press release from the St. Charles County Assessor's Office, taxpayers who are in the Wentzville School District can expect notices to be mailed on or about April 12.

Wentzville School Board Votes to Keep Tax Rate

The Wentzville School District set a preliminary tax rate at their March 19 board meeting.

The preliminary rate is used by St. Charles County to send out preliminary tax liability notices to property owners, and can be increased or decreased in September.

Board to Consider Meth Contamination Ordinance

At Wednesday night's meeting, the Wentzville Board of Aldermen will hear a first reading of an ordinance that declares methamphetamine contamination a nuisance.

The bill adds meth contamination to the definition of unsafe structures and give the code enforcement officer the authority to order occupants to vacate.

Wentzville Board Plans Strategic Planning Session with New City Administrator

The Wentzville Board of Aldermen has set the dates for a strategic planning session with the city's new Administrator, Michael McDowell.

Current plans are for the planning session to be held on Friday evening, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.
