Board Divided on Hiring Former Splash Station Subcontractors

At last week's meeting of the Wentzville Board of Aldermen, the board voted to amend their contract with Gartenberg Construction Consulting for construction oversight of the Splash Station aquatic park project.

The new contract reduces the city's costs from $87,000 to $80,000 because of a reduced scope of services.

Old Shell Station to be Demolished for Relocation of Hapkido USA

Hapkido USA, currently located at 513 West Pearce, will be relocating across the street to 600 West Pearce—and the old Shell Service Station that is currently on that spot will be demolished to make room for parking at the new facility.

Both the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Wentzville Board of Aldermen approved the new site plan, which will create a total of 55 parking spaces on the property.

Residents Applaud Morris' Nay Vote for Ridgepointe Changes

Lake Saint Louis Ward 3 Alderman Richard Morris was the single nay vote for a new development plan for the Villas at Ridgepointe that residents fear will change the atmosphere of what many residents considered to be a senior-lifestyle community.

At Monday night's 5:30 Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen work session, Community Development Director Steve Schertel asked for changes to the bill, which had already received a first reading at the June 4 meeting.

 In 2007 Crider Health Center, headquartered in Wentzville, expanded its scope as a provider of community mental health services, branching out to provide primary health care, dental services, community support, crisis response and prevention services.
